M81 Starter

M81R (SM81R) is a series of Prestolite Electric starters of current usage that provide a starting power from 2.5 to 4.5 kW, depending on the voltage of the electrical system used in the vehicle. The starters of this series have a planetary reduction gear in their design, some models have an additional relay for unloading the «ignition switch» at the moment of starting. The front cover can be made of both cast iron and aluminum alloys upon agreement with consumers.

M81R Starters are designed and supplied to complete vehicles with both 12V and 24V electrical system. They are designed for starting engines up to 4.8 liters and not exceeding 1.2 liters for 12V on-board electrical system, as well as engines up to 5.0 liters and not exceeding 1.3 liters with 24V on-board electrical system.

The following models of starters are specifically designed for use in MTZ, AMKODOR, MAZ, GAZ, PAZ, as well as other machinery with three- and four-cylinder engines produced by Minsk Motor Plant.

Starters of this series have successfully passed a full range of bench and life tests, showed high operational efficiency and reliability.

Starters are certified for compliance with the requirements of TR TS 018/2011 «On the safety of wheeled vehicles».

The main conveyor consumer of starters of this series is the Minsk Motor Plant, which is the general supplier of diesel engines for the Minsk Tractor Works.
